Mumbai based custom motorcycle maker Vardenchi in partnership with Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Morini launched its premium custom roadster the Vardenchi T5 at the 2014 Auto Expo today. The motorcycle has been completely designed and developed at Vardenchi’s facility in Mumbai, while the engine comes from the firm’s partner Moto Morini.
The Vardenchi T5 showcased gets a laid back cruiser styling and was given a two-tone white and orange paint job. The design is definitely striking in line with Vardenchi’s design language. The motorcycle has used a trellis frame and uses LEDs for the headlights and the taillights. The Moto Morini sourced engine is an 1187cc V-Twin unit mounted on the trellis frame that powers the bike. The bike uses Marzocchi USD forks and Ohlins shocks. The bike featured a 19-inch tyre in front, while the rear receives a 17-inch tyre wrapped on spoke wheels, however the production model will get alloy wheels. The stopping comes from Brembo brakes and also gets a digital instrument cluster.
The company also showcased the two new products from Moto Morini the Granpasso adventure bike and the Scrambler all-terrain motorcycle which will be sold in the country by Vardenchi. The motorcycles will come in a price range of Rs. 25 – 32 lakhs.
Vardenchi and Moto Morini entered into a partnership last year, wherein the Mumbai based company will handle the sales, distribution and service for the Italian automakers products and Moto Morini will promote the T5 internationally. The company aims to sell 600 units of the bike annually with the number going up to 2000 over the next five years. The Vardenchi T5 will be priced in the Rs. 8 – 12 lakh range and will be competing with established brands like Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Honda and Suzuki.
