Suzuki Storms Auto Expo With Multiple Bikes

Suzuki V Strom
Suzuki Motorcycles India has an illustrious display of motorcycles and scooters at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The Japanese manufacturer has been rather silent in the previous year and hopes to break the silence this year with back to back launches in the coming months.
Suzuki has upgraded its commuter motorcycles and scooters launching three new products in different segments. The major attraction is the new quarter litre entrant, the long awaited Suzuki Inazuma which was launched in January this year. The bike is powered by a 248cc twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine capable of producing 24 PS of power and 22 Nm of torque. The bike offers linear power delivery and boasts of a strong mid range making it a breeze for long rides. Fuel economy is claimed between 30 – 35 km/l and receives naked styling. The bike is priced at Rs. 3.10 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be competing with the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM Duke 200 and the Honda CBR250R.
Suzuki also showcased the Gixxer 150cc motorcycle in the last week of January and has been positioned above the 6-speed GS150R. The bike is equipped with a single cylinder 150cc engine and will be competing against the Yamaha FZ and the Honda CB Trigger. The bike has been designed on a light and stiff frame using Suzuki Eco Performance and will be directed towards the enthusiast rider.
The next important model is the Let’s Scooter that was launched along with the Gixxer. This is Suzuki’s first scooter in the 110cc segment and is betting big on being a volume puller. The Let’s scooter is powered by 112.8cc engine producing 8.7 HP of power at 7500 RPM and 9 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The scooter weighs in at only 98 kgs, giving it a pleasant power to weight ratio as well. The engine features Suzuki Eco Performance and returns a claimed mileage of 63 km/l. The scooter has been aimed to compete with the Honda Activa-i and the Yamaha uni-sex scooter that was launched earlier today. Suzuki has not divulged on any details as yet and will officially launch both the models in July later this year.
The other models on sale have also received minor updates, especially the Hayate motorcycle which needs to be pushed out of dealerships and the 125cc Access and Swish scooter. Suzuki also displayed the Being Human editions of its models at the auto expo.
For the enthusiast and super bike lovers, the updated Hayabusa is leading the crowd. Suzuki has showcased the limited edition version of the Hayabusa with the Daytona yellow paint scheme. The 2013 GSX-R1000 and the GSX-R1000Z 1 Million Commemorative Edition models have been showcased. Suzuki has put up the M1800R B.O.S.S edition on display at the stall which features complete black and yellow paint job, differentiating it from the chrome and black M800 and the M1800R along with the sports tourer BanditS or GSF1250S half naked motorcycle. Suzuki also showcased the adventure tourer V-Strom 1000 and has already begun sales of this CBU model.
