2014 TO SEE BIG LAUNCHES.. READY YOUR KITTY FOR AN UPGARDE

Year 2013 was not a big year in terms of new launches except for the Ford ecosport, Hyundai Grand I10, Mercedes A class,But year 2014 is going to be different ,new product portfolio is filled for most of the companies ready to be overthrow the king in the segment, of which Honda leads the race with as many as four new launches to be seen. New Jaaz platform seems to be the future for Honda for quite some time now ,now that they even offers a well acclaimed diesel engine competitors will sure have sleepless nights. New global honda city is all ready to be unveiled on NOV 25 in Delhi. Honda Cars India has stopped production of the current Honda City to make way for the all-new City (codename: 2CT) which is set to make its global debut in New Delhi on November 25. Last month, Honda sold a mere 31 Citys to dealers, which indicates that the company has completely exhausted its stocks. To clear inventory, dealers are offering discounts of as much as Rs 40,000 on the outgoing Honda City.

Honda dealers have already started taking bookings for the new Honda City, with a deposit of around Rs 50,000, but deliveries are expected only in January next year.

The all-new Honda City has been kept closely under wraps and, despite the launch being just a few days away, no spy pictures have emerged. Details on the new car model are sketchy, but according to company sources, the new Honda City is expected to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. As with the current car, the new City will be built on the same platform as the upcoming new-generation Jazz, and both will be locally assembled. The outgoing City’s 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine is likely to be carried over with some minor tweaks to improve power and efficiency, and for the first time, the City will get a diesel engine – the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor that powers the popular Amaze, albeit with a bump up in power. Despite the improvements to the petrol engine, the diesel will undoubtedly be the more popular choice.

The car is also expected to grow marginally in size, and combined with the fantastic interior packaging efforts we’ve seen in Honda’s recent cars, the new City could very well set a new class benchmark for cabin space. The interiors will be upgraded too with a more upmarket ambience and more equipment – one of the current car’s shortcomings. Expect segment staples like automatic climate control and Bluetooth connectivity to be on the list.

and one of the most anticipated Honda mobilio which is getting ready to over throw the market leader Maruti Ertiga,The mobilio sure seems to be capable of doing that if they price the MPV right.

another player who is planning big is Maruti suzuki which is planning to roll out new ASTAR, SX4 repalcement, and XA alpha and compact suv. They seems to be bagging on SUVs and new launches in near future now.

Hyundai seems to be all over their Fluidic model right from Eon to santa fe, and the good thing is that its perfectly working for them right now and is for sure currently the trendsetters. Hyundai is planning a new I20 ,a saloon version of their money spinner grand i10 , new all new fluidic SANTA FE.

 Volkswagen may be mainly concentrating on facelifts rather than new models but we cant ignore a chance of a sub four meter SUV ,the segment which every car maker wants a piece of right now..

Tata motors also will showcase some new models or variants throughout their lineup. One to lookout is TATA NANO facelift and most importantly its diesel variant which is supposed to ring cash bells for TATA in the entry segment. We can look forward to facelifted version of TATA VISTA, MANZA and a CS version of TATA MANZA which has been in news for quite some time..TATA may have to think beyond INDICA and its old product lineup if it have to  be in the game.
